Mizzou coach Barry Odom adds Texas tackle to 2017 recruiting class

Missouri isn’t Irish, but football coach Barry Odom and company had to feel lucky Thursday when DeSoto (Texas) tackle Hyrin White announced ahis verbal commitment.

White became the second known member of the 2017 class when he tweeted that will attend Mizzou.

White — a 6-foot-6, 275-pound three-star prospect — also had offers from Arizona State, Oklahoma State and SMU, according to Rivals. He’s rated as the No. 55 tackle in the 2017 class and the No. 84 prospect in Texas.

White, who is 247 Sports’ No. 76 tackle and No. 95 player from Texas, also had offers from Colorado, Nevada and North Texas, according to the recruiting service.

Scout also lists White as a three-star prospect. He’s ranked as the No. 28 tackle and the No. 5 tackle in Texas, while ESPN also lists White with offers from Indiana, Tulsa and UCLA.

White joins Hogan Prep’s DaRon Davis as the first commitments in Missouri’s 2017 class.
