Missouri confirmed Monday that two players, cornerback Ernest Payton and defensive tackle DeQuinton Osborne, had voluntarily left the football program.

Payton, a redshirt junior from College Station, Texas, played in one game last season. He recorded two tackles, including one for a loss, with a pass breakup against Murray State before suffering a torn ACL in practice the next week.

Payton (6-2, 210) participated in the Tigers’ spring camp on a limited basis. He appeared in three games as a redshirt freshman in 2012.

Osborne — a 6-foot, 310-pound redshirt freshman from Grand Prairie, Texas — had yet to appear in a college game.

Payton was listed fourth on the Tigers’ spring depth chart, which has yet to be updated since spring practices ended.

Payton was behind Aarion Penton, Hogan Prep graduate Anthony Sherrils, who has been moved to safety, and junior college transfer Kenya Davis.

Osborne also was fourth on the spring depth chart behind Matt Hoch, Josh Augusta and Nate Crawford.
