▪ ABOUT KANSAS (33-4): The top-seeded Jayhawks are seeking their 15th Final Four — and third under KU coach Bill Self — in Saturday’s game against Villanova. KU might not face a tougher team the rest of the postseason, as after Thursday’s 92-69 victory over Miami (Fla.), Villanova moved up to second in Ken Pomeroy’s statistical rankings behind only KU. Forward Perry Ellis has carried the Jayhawks’ offense so far, averaging 23 points in three NCAA Tournament games with 66-percent field-goal accuracy.

▪ ABOUT VILLANOVA (32-5): The second-seeded Wildcats have been one of the best teams in the NCAA Tournament following blowout victories over UNC Asheville, Iowa and Miami (Fla.). Villanova has been sparked by hot shooting, making 33 of its 62 outside shots (53 percent) and also 64 percent of its twos. With a victory, the Wildcats would advance to their fifth Final Four, though a 1971 appearance was later vacated. Villanova last made the national semifinals in 2009, where it fell to North Carolina, 83-69.
