Kansas football lands eighth junior college commitment in 2015 class
In his third year at Kansas, Charlie Weis has continued to pour recruiting resources into the junior college ranks. It’s paid off this month.
KU landed a commitment on Sunday from junior college safety L.B. Bates, according to Rivals.com. Bates, a sophomore at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas, becomes the eighth junior college player to commit this month. All eight visited Kansas on the same weekend in mid June.
While coaches are not allowed to comment on specific recruits, Weis celebrated Bates’ commitment with the following tweet:
“Congrats to my staff for closing out a June official visit weekend going 8/8,” Weis wrote. “Nice job, Rock Chalk!”
