KU quarterback Ryan Willis limited because of wrist injury
Kansas quarterback Ryan Willis will be limited during upcoming spring practices after injuring his right wrist during a pickup basketball game, KU coach David Beaty announced in a release Friday.
Willis, a sophomore, started KU’s final eight games last season, all losses, completing 52 percent of his passes for 1,719 yards with nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
“We will monitor Ryan’s injury,” Beaty said, “and he will be back as a full participant whenever our doctors allow it.”
Montell Cozart has the most experience of KU’s other returning quarterbacks, as he has started games in each of the last three previous seasons. Deondre Ford also started a game last season — at Rutgers — before suffering a season-ending thumb injury that game.
