‘Those guys have got no idea,’ Bob Stoops says of mock drafts’ rankings of Dorial Green-Beckham
Wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, who transferred to Oklahoma this last summer after being kicked off Missouri’s team, is listed as a 2015 first-round draft choice in most mock drafts. Some, such as a recent CBSSports.com mock draft, have him in the top 10.
The sticking point for Oklahoma is that Green-Beckham, who is sitting out this year because the NCAA denied his appeal for immediate eligibility, could turn pro without ever playing a down for the Sooners.
And coach Bob Stoops says he doesn’t care.
“I’m not concerned,” Stoops told the Daily Oklahoman on Wednesday.
“Why would I be concerned? If he does, he does.”
Green-Beckham, from Springfield, was the No. 1 overall player nationally in 2012 and chose the Tigers over the Sooners.
“I’m always concerned that all of my players — including him — make an intelligent decision,” Stoops said.
“All you have to do is go back the last two, three years and look at how accurate the mock drafts has been at this time of year. They’re about 20 percent.
“Those guys have got no idea. That’s just pure entertainment.”
