Pat Murphy Comments on Jacob Misiorowski After Brewers Game
Pat Murphy praised Jacob Misiorowski after another strong outing for the Milwaukee Brewers, highlighting how the rookie continues to deliver consistent results against major league hitters. Jacob Misiorowski threw a record-setting 103.7 mph pitch, and Brice Turang hit two of Milwaukee's five solo home runs as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Colorado Rockies 7-1 on Saturday night.
The Brewers continued their strong stretch in a game where Misiorowski took the mound and once again drew attention with his ability to handle pressure. He followed up his sensational May - during which he went 5-0 with a 0.23 ERA in six starts - with another excellent outing.
Misiorowski allowed just an unearned run on four hits and struck out eight in seven innings to lower his ERA to 1.50. The right-hander worked out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the sixth and struck out Jake McCarthy and Sterlin Thompson looking with a runner on third to end his night.
He also fired a 103.7 mph fastball that was low and outside to Kyle Karros in the third inning, the fastest pitch by a major league starter since tracking began in 2008.The 24-year-old has thrown the 12 fastest pitches by a starter.
Misiorowski previous high was 103.4 mph against St. Louis on May 25. He needed just 40 pitches to get through four innings, but Milwaukee's defense faltered in the fifth, leading to the Rockies' only run.
After the game, manager Pat Murphy spoke openly about Misiorowski's progress. According to Fox Sports 960 reporter Hunter Baumgardt, Murphy stressed how unusual it looks for a young pitcher to perform with such steadiness at this level.
Murphy said the Brewers needed to take note of what Misiorowski had done and emphasized that pitching in the major leagues does not come easily, especially against established lineups. He pointed out that Misiorowski's consistency over his recent outings stood out as something the team should recognize and value.
Misiorowski entered the Brewers system as a highly rated young arm and made his MLB debut in 2025. His transition to the majors has drawn attention from both coaches and analysts.

"We gotta take note of what this guy has done. Pitching isn't this easy in the big leagues. If you're pitching against a major league team, to be as consistent as this guy has been over the last I don't know how many outings is remarkable."
Misiorowski has worked through his early major league appearances with a focus on limiting runs and keeping hitters off balance across multiple innings. His strikeout numbers and innings totals reflect a pitcher still adjusting to the league but already showing traits that Milwaukee values in long-term rotation planning.
Milwaukee's coaching staff continued to monitor his workload closely, but they also allowed him to work deeper into situations where he showed control and composure.
