Victor Wembanyama Assigns Blame After Spurs' Game 3 Loss to Thunder
The San Antonio Spurs stormed out to a 15-0 lead to begin Friday night's matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but by the end of the night it was Oklahoma City walking away with a convincing 123-108 victory.
The Thunder's bench proved to be the difference, combining for 76 points, while San Antonio - including Victor Wembanyama - struggled to consistently generate offense when it mattered most.
Wembanyama had just two made field goals deep into the third quarter before finishing strong late in the game, but the rally was not enough to overcome the Thunder's double-digit comeback. He finished with 26 points, four rebounds, and three assists while shooting 8-for-15 from the field and 2-for-5 from three-point range.

After the game, Wembanyama did not shy away from responsibility for the loss, pointing to his need to better involve his teammates offensively.
"I feel like I have trouble making my teammates better right now," Wembanyama said. "That's what I should do better. My shooting's been terrible, I need to be more of a team player."
The Spurs have now fallen into a 2-1 series deficit, significantly increasing the importance of Game 4 at home.
San Antonio will now look to even the series before it shifts back to Oklahoma City, as avoiding a 3-1 hole would prevent the Thunder from having an opportunity to potentially close out the series on their home floor in Game 5.
