Sam Darnold and Seahawks Are Sitting Pretty Heading Into 2026

The official start to the NFL season is under four months away, and even though that may seem like an eternity from now, it’ll be here before you know it.

The Seattle Seahawks are looking to repeat the massive success they had during the 2026-27 season.

In a way-too-early NFL Power Rankings feature, released by ESPN in May, the Seahawks are sitting pretty at No. 1 in the rankings.

“The Super Bowl champions didn’t lose anyone on their offensive line, returning all 11 players who had at least one snap last season. That group should improve with continuity, and one draft pick could be their biggest addition of the offseason,” Brady Henderson of ESPN states in the feature.

He also states: “General manager John Schneider traded a 2027 fourth-round pick to draft Iowa’s Beau Stephens in the fifth round. The Associated Press All-American in 2025 looks like he’ll provide some needed competition for Anthony Bradford at right guard.”

The Seahawks certainly have reason to be hyped for the 2026-27 season. Their biggest loss during the offseason was Kenneth Walker III, but they can come back from that, and they drafted Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price with the 32nd overall pick, which was a key move. If they can get Price some quick development and continue to provide offensive targets for Darnold, this franchise could certainly head to the Super Bowl again this upcoming season.
