'Stunning' NHL Reporter Grabs Attention With Game 5 Outfit
The Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres haven't disappointed with their first-round playoff series, that's for sure.
The Bruins avoided elimination on Tuesday night thanks to a game-winning goal from David Pastranak. His overtime goal against the Sabres was set up by a beautiful pass from Hampus Lindholm.
"He's pretty special when it comes to those opportunities, too, so it was fun to see it go in," Lindholm told reporters, via ESPN.
Even though Game 5 between the Bruins and Sabres was exceptional, Meghan Chayka managed to steal their thunder.
Chayka, a Canadian data scientist who provides hockey analytics, was at KeyBank Center to watch the Bruins-Sabres game. She wore a blue dress that had NHL fans buzzing online.
"Analytics say you're fine," one fan replied.
"Let me start with watching hockey," a second person wrote.
"That's why the Sabres lost! Too distracted by you," a third fan said.
"ok!!!! Dress is STUNNING," another person commented.
Who is Meghan Chayka?
Hockey fans are accustomed to seeing Chayka on TSN's version of "SportsCenter." As you saw on Tuesday, she also provides analysis outside of the studio.
"Meghan is a Co-Founder/CEO of Stathletes, a hockey data and analytics company. Stathletes provides industry leading hockey insights in over 22 leagues worldwide and has scaled to the highest professional levels across North America and Europe," her bio states. "Meghan is also a Data Scientist in Residence at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. She was featured on the insert cover of the Hockey News' Top 100 of Power and Influence in 2019. She is on the board of advisors of US Integrity in the sports betting space. Meghan has a weekly segment for FanDuel on TSN called ‘Strength in Numbers.' She has appeared in the last two NHL Drafts as an analyst on the panel for ESPN."
It won't be long before Chayka is back in the spotlight. After all, the Stanley Cup Playoffs resume this Wednesday with three matchups.
