With recent drops like the Flu Games, Taxis, French Blues, and the newer Bloodline 12s, Jordan Brand has kept the model in heavy rotation. At this point, it feels like every few months there's another 12s release announcement. As a fan of the model, I honestly can't complain-I even grabbed the Reverse Taxis back in 2024 and they still stay in my rotation today.

Originally debuting in 1997, the Obsidian 12s are one of the cleanest OG-inspired colorways in the lineup. While MJ never actually wore this pair on court, the color blocking and UNC-inspired tones helped it build a strong reputation over time. Over the years, it's turned into one of those "if you know, you know" classics that long-time Jordan fans always ask for a return of.
Where to Buy the Air Jordan 12 'Obsidian' On Release Day
Like most major Jordan releases, expect pairs to be available at retailers such as Foot Locker, Champs, DSG, Hibbett, Snipes, and DTLR, along with Nike and SNKRS for online drops.
