Twitter has a field day after Nixa, Mo., man accused of having sex with a cow

A 68-year-old man from Nixa, Mo., was charged last week with unlawful sex with an animal — in this case, a cow.

The cow’s owner said she walked into her barn in Fair Grove, Mo., and found Darrell Helton trying to have sex with one of her cows, according to the Springfield News-Leader.

She told Greene County authorities it was the second time she caught Helton doing it with a cow on her property, the newspaper reports.

According to a probable-cause statement by sheriff’s deputies, she saw an unknown car parked near her barn on June 10. When she went inside to check things out she saw Helton standing behind one of her cows apparently having sex with it, the statement said.

Helton told deputies that he caught the cow, tied it up and tried to have sex with it, authorities said. He was charged with a Class A misdemeanor, punishable with up to one year in jail.

Don’t think for a minute that the case hasn’t already inspired a ton of snark. No bull.
