After three months of delaying the release of information in the drowning death of a handcuffed Iowa man, the Missouri Highway Patrol handed over its final report Thursday.
Among the more than 400 pages of investigative reports and interviews, the patrol provided The Star with videos of two troopers who set out to re-create the speed and conditions on Trooper Anthony Piercy’s boat on May 31, the day Brandon Ellingson drowned on the Lake of the Ozarks.
Never miss a local story.
Piercy was going 39.1 to 43.7 mph just before Ellingson went overboard. In the video, the troopers reach average speeds of 38 to 40 mph.
