A bridge ruins this rookie truck driver’s first day on the job
A rookie truck driver. A low-hanging bridge.
Fill in the blank.
That nightmare scenario came to pass Tuesday morning for a 24-year-old Canadian truck driver who struck a bridge, then got stuck under it, in Tonawanda, N.Y.
Kirisanthan Senathi told police at the scene it was his first day on the job, reports WIBV in Buffalo.

The bridge is marked with a clearance of 11 feet, 6 inches — about 2 feet shorter than the average height of a tractor-trailer, according to LiveTrucking.com.
The crash caused substantial damage to the truck, Tonawanda police told The Buffalo News. The trailer was empty at the time.
No one was injured in the crash. The News reports Senathi was ticked for hitting the bridge and other infractions.
