RNC plans Kansas, Missouri ads critical of Gitmo closure
The Republican National Committee has purchased digital ads critical of a proposed shutdown of the Guantanamo detention facility.
The RNC says the digital billboards will run in several states, including Kansas and Missouri. Lawmakers in Kansas have bitterly opposed moving any terrorist suspects to the federal facility in Leavenworth.
The ad is also running in Colorado.
The White House has not announced any plans to close the facility in the immediate future, or to transfer the detainees to the continental U.S.
