Republican Eric Greitens is expected to kick off his campaign for Missouri governor at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Louis.
So what did rival GOPer John Brunner do Thursday night?
He issue a tweet saying he would have “a VERY important announcement” Friday morning.
Presumably, Brunner will announce — or hint very broadly — that he, too, is in the race.
The point? Brunner wants to steal a little of Greitens thunder.
Also on Thursday, Brunner tweeted a photo of he and his wife flanked by former Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt and 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
“Next #mogov between two great Governors. Ready for the fight!”
Bottom line: The 2016 Republican nomination fight is about to get more crowded with four top-shelf contenders, and it’s going to be a heckuva race.
