Orman on the move in new poll, Brownback-Davis deadlocked

A new poll suggests incumbent Sen. Pat Roberts is vulnerable.

The survey, from Public Policy Polling, which is usually regarded as a Democratic outfit, had the Republican at 32 percent, Democrat Chad Taylor at 25 percent and independent Greg Orman at 23 percent.

Libertarian Randall Batson was at 3 percent.

The good news for Roberts: He still has a lead, and Orman and Taylor pretty much split the anti-incumbent vote.

The bad news: Orman, though still largely unknown, is advancing steadily in public polls.

In the race for governor, Democratic challenger Paul Davis leads incumbent Sam Brownback by 39-37 percent with Libertarian Keen Umbehr at 9 percent.

One tough finding for Brownback: Only 34 percent of voters approve of the job he’s doing compared with 55 percent who disapprove.
