Senate race in Kansas tight, poll suggests

A new Ramussen poll shows Sen. Pat Roberts edging challenger Chad Taylor by four points — 44 percent to 40 percent.

But the poll apparently did not name independent Greg Orman, potentially skewing its results.

Normally an independent candidate would not be a significant factor in a Senate race. But Orman polled at 14 percent in a July Survey USA poll, a pretty big number.

In that poll, Roberts led the field with 38 percent, followed by Taylor at 33 percent.
