Kansas City, Kan., police continued Saturday to investigate how four high school teens suffered serious injuries the day before when they were struck by a car near a community center.

A woman, thought to be the driver, remained in the Wyandotte County Detention Center Saturday evening. The woman, who has not been charged, is being held without bond on suspicion of committing intentional aggravated battery to cause “great bodily harm or disfigurement,” according to jail records.

Hospitals treating the students reported no updates to their conditions.

The students were standing in the 1300 block of Troup Avenue about 2:35 p.m. when an eastbound Mercedes-Benz sedan crested a hill and hit them. The car then veered through a yard and came to rest near a fence. The driver remained at the scene and was interviewed by police.
