No injuries after school bus is struck by gunfire in Kansas City
No students were hit when gunfire struck a Genesis School bus about 3 p.m. Wednesday near 24th Street and Olive Avenue, police said.
The bus was carrying 27 children; one bullet smacked the bus near its roof line, police said.
Police took two people into custody, but a third person remained at large.
The shooting occurred near Attucks Elementary School at 24th Street and Prospect Avenue. The school, which still was in session, went on lockdown.
The Genesis bus was not a target but was in a line of fire between parties shooting at each other, police said.
