Police seek tips on Raytown liquor store robbery where employee was apparently wounded
Police are investigating the robbery of a Raytown liquor store earlier this month during which a bullet apparently grazed an employee’s head.
He was treated at a hospital.
The robbery occurred Jan. 2 at a liquor store in the 6500 block of Raytown Road.
Two men, one armed with a gun, entered the store and demanded money. One of the robbers struck a female employee, knocking her down, police said.
The male employee told police he attempted to activate an alarm but tripped and fell. He told police he thought he struck his head on the way down. Police, however, believe he most likely was grazed by a bullet.
The robbers fled. A complete description of them was not available.
Raytown police said they waited to release information about the robbery until this week because the robbers might have been involved in other crimes. Raytown police have been working with other agencies to investigate.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Tips Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
