Olathe police investigate late-night shooting

A 22-year-old Olathe woman was in stable condition Wednesday morning after suffering a gunshot wound to the chest late Tuesday.

Police responded to an apartment complex in the 1500 block of East College Way at 11:42 p.m. The victim was taken to a hospital. A 1-year-old child in the apartment at the time of the shooting was unharmed.

Police said it appeared the gunshots were fired from the street in the direction of a specific apartment. No other details were immediately available.
