Teen dies in Kansas City shooting

Kansas City police have identified a Thursday night homicide victim as 18-year-old Deion J. Solomon.

Solomon was shot about 9:30 p.m. Thursday while standing on the porch of a house in the 6900 block of Bellefontaine Avenue.

Police said someone in a passing car fired the shots and then sped from the area. Solomon was taken to a hospital by private vehicle before police arrived.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
