Kansas City homicide victim identified
One man dead. One man wounded. And several firearms scattered around.
That was the scene Kansas City police came upon in the 11800 block of Holiday Drive after area residents reported shots being fired just before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Darion Page, 21, was found dead in the passenger seat of a Pontiac Grand Prix in an apartment building parking lot, according to police.
A 20-year-old man, whose name was not released, was found injured in the stairwell inside an adjoining building. His injuries were considered life-threatening, and he was taken by ambulance to a hospital. An update on his condition was not available Wednesday morning.
Residents who heard the shots told police they did not see any suspects.
Jackson County court records show that Page was on probation in a robbery and armed criminal action case from 2011.
The killing was Kansas City’s first homicide in July and the 35th so far in 2014. There were 53 homicides at the same time last year.
