Accidental gunshot injures Kansas City child
A small boy was injured Monday morning in an accidental shooting inside a central Kansas City apartment.
A bullet hit the boy, who was 3 or 4, in the lower back. His was reported to be in critical but stable condition at an area hospital.
The shooting was reported about 10:15 a.m. Monday in the 6000 block of Blue Hills Road. Police said that a man was handling a handgun when it discharged. The bullet penetrated a wall and struck the boy.
The man who fired the shot was cooperating with police.
