Poor speller sentenced for ‘robin’ bank in Kansas City
A Kansas City man who asked a bank teller how to spell “rob” before handing her a robbery note was sentenced Thursday to three years and one month in prison.
Lorene Harris, 54, pleaded guilty in October to the August 2014 robbery of the Bank of America at 6320 Prospect Ave.
When Harris told a teller he was robbing the bank, she asked him if he had a note, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court in Kansas City.
He then asked her for a piece of paper and asked her how to spell “rob.”
The note he handed her read: “I am robin this bank. Give me the money.”
