Three people, including a 17-year-old, now are charged in the March 28 killing of a man in Kansas City.
According to Jackson County prosecutors, 25-year-old Demar Swift was fatally shot in the 1800 block of Topping Avenue while fighting with men who were trying to rob him during a drug deal.
Prosecutors announced charges Friday against 20-year-old Martinez C. Lewis in connection with the killing.
Additional charges have been filed against Demarcus T. Rivers, 20, and Lyrick T. Bryson, 17, according to Jackson County court records.
All three are charged with second-degree murder, attempted first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action.
According to court documents, the men allegedly tried to rob Swift after he made arrangements to sell them marijuana.
A witness said the men attacked Swift and grabbed a jar of marijuana from him. He chased them outside and was struggling with one of the men when he was shot, according to the court documents.
