A Franklin County, Kan., jury on Wednesday found Kyle Flack guilty of killing four people in 2013 at a farmhouse outside Ottawa.

Jurors deliberated about four hours in the quadruple murder trial before returning guilty verdicts on charges of capital murder and two counts of first-degree murder.

They also found Flack, 30, guilty of criminal possession of a firearm.

He was convicted of a single count of capital murder in the deaths of 21-year-old Kaylie Bailey of Olathe and her 18-month-old daughter, Lana Bailey.

The jury found him guilty of second-degree murder in the death of Andrew Stout, 30, and first-degree murder in the death of Steven White, 31. Both lived at the house where the killings occurred.

All four victims were killed by shotgun blasts over several days in the spring of 2013.

Under Kansas law, a second trial phase will be held to determine whether Flack will be sentenced to death or life in prison for capital murder.

Jurors also will decide a sentence on the first-degree murder conviction.

Court officials have scheduled that second phase to begin March 28.
