Missouri again leads the nation in the rate of black homicide victims

The state’s 2012 rate — 34.98 homicides per 100,000 black residents — was nearly twice the national rate, according to the study released by the Violence Policy Center in Washington. In the study released last year, Missouri ranked second to Nebraska. In the most recent study, Nebraska was second with a rate of 34.93 per 100,000.
