Convicted killer from Wyandotte County is sentenced for drugs in prison
A convicted murderer from Wyandotte County was sentenced Wednesday to two years and five months in prison for trafficking in drugs inside a Kansas prison.
Darrel Rodgers, 42, an inmate at the Lansing Correctional Facility, was convicted of possessing synthetic marijuana with the intent to distribute, according to Leavenworth County prosecutors.
Prison staff found two large bags of drugs in Rodgers’ pocket during a search last year, prosecutors said.
Rodgers was sentenced in 2009 to life in prison with no chance of parole for 20 years for the 2005 killing of Jeremy Warrior in Kansas City, Kan.
Warrior’s wife, who was convicted of conspiring with Rodgers to kill her husband, was shot and paralyzed when he was killed.
