KC police identify man fatally shot Sunday at Linwood Boulevard apartment
Police on Monday identified a 24-year-old man who was fatally shot Sunday during a disturbance as William Verner of Kansas City.
Officers responded about 2:45 p.m. to the incident in the 2700 block of East Linwood Boulevard. They found Verner inside an apartment. He died later at a hospital.
A man who may have been connected to the shooting fled but later surrendered at the Metro Patrol Division, police said. Witnesses told investigators that Verner had been involved in a disturbance with another man before the shooting.
