Police identify Lee’s Summit man fatally shot Friday in Kansas City

Kansas City police on Monday identified a victim of a New Year’s day homicide as Marc Bivins, 25, of Lee’s Summit.

Bivins was still alive when an ambulance crew reached him about 4:50 p.m. Friday in the 10100 block of Raytown Road, police said. He was taken to a hospital with an apparent gunshot wound.

Police initially identified Bivins in connection with another homicide but soon corrected themselves.
