BNSF Railway seeks tips on shooter who injured railroad worker
The BNSF Railway on Wednesday asked for help identifying a person who fired shots last weekend into the Argentine Yard in Kansas City, Kan., injuring a railroad worker.
The person fired about 10 shots from a 9 mm pistol about 11 p.m. Saturday from the 42nd Street Bridge, according to BNSF Railway police in a release.
One of the bullets went through the grill of a Kubota tractor and into the cab, injuring a railroad worker. The worker, who was struck in the leg, wasn’t seriously injured and didn’t realize the injury was caused by gunfire.
The next morning, a mechanic found a bullet in the cab and noticed bullet holes in the tractor. BNSF police found 10 shell casings on the bridge, according to the release.
BNSF Railway is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call 800-832-5452.
