Fatal shooting reported in Kansas City

Police are investigating a Friday afternoon fatal shooting in central Kansas City.

Officers received a call about 2:30 p.m. Friday from someone who reported hearing gunshots coming from inside a house in the 3300 block of Bales Avenue.

Officers were on their way when they received a second call saying a man was down in the home’s front room.

On arrival, police found the victim unconscious and began life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
