Kansas City shooting victim dies at hospital

A shooting Friday morning in Kansas City has resulted in another death — the city’s 15th homicide of a bloody September.

Police officers were dispatched at 10:24 a.m. to the scene in the 6600 block of Monroe Avenue.

The victim died after being transported to an area hospital, police said. Details of what led to the shooting were not available.

Police ask anyone with information on the killing to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477).

Kansas City has averaged nearly one homicide per day this month. It has been nearly four years since the city recorded more than 15 homicides in any one month, according to data compiled by The Star.
