Overland Park woman charged with stealing $100,000 from elderly relative

A 63-year-old Overland Park woman has been charged with stealing at least $100,000 from an elderly family member.

Christine B. Raya was arrested Saturday on charges of mistreating an elder and theft. Johnson County prosecutors accused Raya of stealing money beginning in January 2013 and abusing the power of attorney over an elder relative beginning in July 2014.

Raya was in custody at the Johnson County Jail Saturday and released after posting a $10,000 bond.
