Man shot to death at Blue Springs motel

A man was shot to death Saturday morning at a Blue Springs motel, and police arrested a suspect a short time later.

About 7:40 a.m., Blue Springs police responded to a report of shots fired at the Days Inn at 451 NW Jefferson St., just north of Interstate 70 and west of Missouri 7. They found the victim in one of the rooms.

Police saw a male with a firearm in the parking lot of a nearby restaurant. Negotiators talked him into putting down his weapon, and he was arrested.
