New charges for Kansas City anarchist accused of attacking Cleaver’s office
A 28-year-old self-proclaimed anarchist already accused of heaving two Molotov cocktails at the district office of Rep. Emanuel Cleaver faced more charges Tuesday as a grand jury released its indictment.
Prosecutors charged Eric G. King, of Kansas City, in a criminal complaint last month with using a dangerous instrument to intimidate and interfere with a federal official.
The new counts charged him with attempted arson, using explosive materials to commit a felony and with illegally possessing an incendiary device.
King is alleged to have thrown two Molotov cocktails at Cleaver’s office early the morning of Sept. 11. Investigators found no fire damage at the building.
