Guilty verdict in KCK murder trial

A Leavenworth man was convicted Wednesday of first-degree murder in the January 2013 killing of 19-year-old Matthew Gibson in Kansas City, Kan.

A Wyandotte County jury also found Marcus G. Butler, 25, guilty of attempted aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery.

Wyandotte County prosecutors said Gibson was killed during a robbery at a home in the 8200 block of Monroe Drive.

Sentencing for Butler is scheduled for November 24.
