Man’s death inside Kansas City house leads to homicide investigation

Police are investigating the city’s 140th homicide of the year after emergency crews found a man down inside a Kansas City house and later declared him deceased.

Police responded on a medical call about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 5500 block of South Benton Avenue, which is just east of Bruce R. Watkins Drive.

The Kansas City Fire Department had responded to the house after a man had been discovered down inside the home. Emergency workers declared the man dead.

Investigators have limited information about the man’s death and are asking anyone who knows what happened to the man to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
