A suspect in the killing of a Kansas City, Kan., man has been arrested after forcing a lock down in two small Kansas towns.

Zachary Barnes, 24, is charged in Wyandotte County District Court with second-degree murder in the Aug. 30 killing of Kevin Fowler.

Fowler, 29, was fatally shot in the 1400 block of North 75th Drive.

Late last week, authorities in Republic County, Kan., near the Nebraska border received word that Barnes was in the area.

During the search, officials locked down the towns of Belleville and Concordia.

Barnes was arrested Friday south of the town of Cuba, authorities said.

He is now being held in the Wyandotte County Detention Center.
