Man sentenced to 30 years in Gladstone stabbing
A 29-year-old Gladstone man was sentenced Friday to 30 years in prison for stabbing another man to death in June 2012.
Luis Fernando Morales-Hernandez was convicted by a jury of voluntary manslaughter and armed criminal action in the death of 25-year-old Juan Manuel Orozco Vargas. The stabbing occurred in the 6300 block of North Wyandotte Street in Gladstone, where Vargas lived. Morales-Hernandez had observed Vargas with a former girlfriend. Morales-Hernandez threw the murder weapon into the Missouri River.
