Once again, the trial of Antoine Fielder, charged with first-degree murder and criminal possession of a firearm in the 2015 death of Kelsey Ewonus, ended in a hung jury.

For the second time, a paroled drug dealer on trial for first-degree murder had his case end in a hung jury in Wyandotte County.

A jury on Thursday couldn’t decide the fate of 29-year-old Antoine Fielder, who was charged in 2015 with first-degree murder and criminal possession of a firearm in the shooting death of 22-year-old Kelsey Ewonus.

According to KCTV 5, Fielder’s first trial ended in a hung jury, which resulted in a mistrial.

Ewonus, the single mother of a 1-year-old son, was found June 30, 2015, fatally shot in a car parked in an out-of-the-way area just west of State Line Road and a few blocks north of the University of Kansas Hospital.

Fielder was paroled from prison in 2014 after serving time on drug sale charges, according to Kansas Department of Corrections records.
