Surveillance video shows burglar stealing cash register from Westport Ice Cream Bakery

The Westport Ice Cream Bakery hopes surveillance footage will help identify a burglar.

The ice cream shop’s owner believes the same burglar is also behind another break-in at a Blue Springs sweet shop, Yogurtini, according to KSHB.

Steve Engravalle, the owner of the Westport ice cream shop, has offered a $1,000 reward for info that leads to the burglar’s arrest. The person is shown on camera stealing the business’s cash register.

On the ice cream shop’s Facebook account, the burglar is referred to by a number of insulting names, some with dessert-themed epithets.

“We’re in the business of making great ice cream and not in the business of catching twinkle toes cupcakes that break through your door,” the Facebook account states.
