Three people escaped injury Friday in Raytown after a car they were riding in was stolen at gunpoint by a man they may have known.
According to police, a man and two other people he was riding with met another man at a parking lot in Kansas City for an unknown transaction about 4:25 p.m.
Minutes later, police said, the three met the second man at a gas station at 87th Street and James A. Reed in Raytown. The victims were somewhat familiar with the man, police said.
The man allegedly produced a gun and demanded the victim’s car. The three occupants of the car ran away, and the gunman took the victim’s vehicle, police said.

The vehicle was located blocks away.
No shots were fired, and no one was injured, police said.
The robber was not in custody Friday. He was described as a light-complected black male in his early 20s who was wearing all blue clothing.
