Kansas City, Kan., homicide victim identified

A Kansas City, Kan., homicide victim was identified Thursday as 32-year-old Anthony M. Bush Jr.

Bush, who lived in Missouri, was shot to death just before noon Wednesday.

Police officers, who were responding to a report of shots being fired in the area of 61st Street and Leavenworth Road, found Bush dead in the passenger seat of a vehicle stopped at 63rd Street and Parallel Parkway.

The driver was also in the car, but was not injured, according to police.

In a tweet Thursday morning, Kansas City, Kan., Police Chief Terry Zeigler said that two suspects had been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the killing and ask anyone with information to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
