Homicide suspect shot by Kansas City, Kan., police
A man wanted in a recent homicide suffered non-life-threatening wounds after he was shot by Kansas City, Kan., police Saturday night in the West Bottoms.
The shooting occurred after a chase that ended about 9:30 p.m. in the 100 block of James Street. Police said they spotted the man, who was wanted on a federal felony warrant, in a vehicle in the 1400 block of Kansas Avenue. He fled when they tried to stop him.
The chase ended when he crashed the vehicle into a fence. Police said they shot him when he exited the vehicle armed with a handgun.
The man was taken to a hospital. The investigation was ongoing.
