One in 10 drivers unable to show valid license at KC checkpoint
Police working a checkpoint Wednesday night stopped 91 drivers who were unable to show or did not have a valid driver’s license.
Police stopped 822 vehicles during the checkpoint that operated from 6 to 11 p.m. in the 5400 block of East Truman Road.
Of the vehicles stopped, 19 drivers were unable to show that they had a valid license, 50 people had failed to obtain a license and 22 were driving while their licenses were suspended or revoked by the city or state.
Police also found people with 26 city warrants and four state warrants. Authorities also made two state narcotics arrests.
Police also reported there were two state firearms violations and one person who hindered an officer.
