KC police identify man found shot in vehicle near Prospect, Meyer

Kansas City police have identified a man who was found shot in a car Wednesday and later died as 19-year-old Cortney Settle.

Officers found Settle inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound after they responded to reports of shots fired about 4:40 p.m. Wednesday near Prospect Avenue and Meyer Boulevard.

Settle was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later, police said.
