Multiple cars damaged in garage fire at KU hospital

At least half a dozen vehicles were reported damaged Wednesday morning when fire broke out in a parking garage at the University of Kansas Hospital.

The fire was reported shortly after 9 a.m. on the second level of the Olathe parking facility on the south side of the hospital campus in Kansas City, Kan.

The first firefighters on the scene reported having trouble finding a water source for several minutes. Once crews obtained a water source, the fire was quickly extinguished.

Reports from the scene indicated that six to eight vehicles had suffered fire damage.

Traffic in the surrounding area had backed up significantly by 10 a.m.
